Summary & News on Elon Musk Companies

  • Elon Musk is working for our ease on both, on Earth and in space to revolutionize transportation.
  • His automaker, Tesla Motors, established in 2003, is bringing to the mass market full-electric cars.
  • He settled for making supposed "fake statements" about a plan to take Tesla private in September 2018 with the SEC and had to step down as president.
  • SpaceX is now valued at over $20 billion, Musk's rocket business.

Elon Musk's Project for Mars : SpaceX

In 2001, Musk conceived Mars Oasis, a project aimed at landing a miniature experimental greenhouse on Mars, comprising food plants grown on Martian regolith in an effort to regain public interest in space exploration.

  •  In October 2001, Musk traveled to Moscow with Jim Cantrell (a fixer for aerospace supplies) and Adeo Ressi (his best college friend) to purchase Dnepr Intercontinental refurbished. The group had meetings with businesses like NPO Lavochkin and Kosmotras.
According to Cantrell, however, Musk was regarded as a novice and was spat on by one of Russia's chief designers and the group returned empty-handed to the United States.

  • The group returned to Russia in February 2002 to search for three ICBMs, bringing along Mike Griffin. Griffin worked for the venture capital arm of the CIA, In-Q-Tel, and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory of NASA, leaving Orbital Sciences, a satellite and spacecraft manufacturer.
  • The group encountered Kosmotras again and was given one rocket for US$ 8 million, but Musk saw that as too costly; Musk stormed out of the conference as a result.

On the flight back from Moscow, Musk realized he could start a company that could build the affordable rockets he needed.

  • According to early investor Steve Jurvetson of Tesla and SpaceX,Musk calculated that the raw materials for constructing a rocket were actually only 3 percent of a rocket's retail cost at the moment. It was concluded that theoretically, by implementing vertical integration and the software engineering modular strategy, SpaceX was able to cut the launch cost by a factor of ten and still enjoy a gross margin of 70 percent. Ultimately, Musk finally founded SpaceX with the long-term objective of establishing a real spacefaring civilization.

  • With an early fortune of US$ 100 million, Musk established Space Exploration Technologies, or SpaceX, in May 2002.[64] Musk is Chief Executive (CEO) and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the Hawthorne, California-based business. SpaceX develops and manufactures cars for space launch with a focus on promoting rocket technology.

  •  The first two launch cars of the company are the Falcon 1 and Falcon 9 missiles (a nod to Star Wars ' Millennium Falcon), and the Dragon (a nod to Puff the Magic Dragon) is their first spacecraft.

SpaceX built the launch vehicles family of Falcon and the Dragon multi-purpose spacecraft in seven years. SpaceX's Falcon 1 rocket became the first private-funded liquid-fueled vehicle to launch a satellite into Earth's orbit in September 2008.

  •  On May 25, 2012, the SpaceX Dragon vehicle lined up with the ISS, making history the first commercial company to launch and lodge a vehicle at the International Space Station.

NASA ContractedSpaceX for Falcon 9 Launch

In 2006, SpaceX was granted a contract from NASA to continue the development and testing of the SpaceX Falcon 9 launch car and Dragon spacecraft to transport cargo to the International Space Station[67 ], followed by a agreement on 23 December 2008 for 12 flights of its Falcon 9 rocket and Dragon spacecraft t.
Musk claimed that the key to making space travel affordable is to make rockets reusable, although most space sector specialists did not think that reusable rockets could or could be reused.

Elon Musk's View about Artificial Intelligence :

Musk has frequently spoken about the prospective risks of artificial intelligence, calling it"

  •  "The most severe threat to the human race's survival." During a 2014 interview at the MIT AeroAstro Centennial Symposium, Musk defined AI as the greatest existential threat to humanity.
  •  "I am increasingly inclined to believe that there should be some legislative supervision, perhaps at the maybe at the national and international level, just to make sure that we don't do something very foolish."

The strongest argument for us probably being in a simulation I think is the following: 40 years ago we had Pong – two rectangles and a dot. That's where we were. Now 40 years later we have photorealistic, 3D simulations with millions of people playing simultaneously and it's getting better every year. And soon we'll have virtual reality, we'll have augmented reality. If you assume any rate of improvement at all, then the games will become indistinguishable from reality, just indistinguishable. (The Independent. June 2, 2016. Retrieved June 30, 2016)

Mark Zuckerburg Vs Elon Musk on Artificial Intelligence:

Musk's artificial intelligence threats have led him to a certain debate. The latter called his warnings "very irresponsible."Musk replied to Zuckerberg in his reply that he had discussed AI with Zuckerberg and discovered that he had a very restricted understanding of the topic. The latter called him very irresponsible. Adam Elkus of Slate argues in 2014 that present AIs are as smart as infants and that only in certain areas can Muske's demon "invoking the devil" analogy outcome in substantial reductions in AI study expenditures.

The Incredible Journey of Elon Musk - The Story of Tesla

  • In July 2003, Tesla, Inc. (initially Tesla Motors) was formed by Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning, who funded the business until the Series A funding round.
  •  Before the involvement of Elon Musk, both men played active roles in the early growth of the company.
  • Musk resulted the Series A investment round in February 2004, joining Tesla's board of directors as its chairman.
  • Musk played an active position within the company and oversaw the comprehensive design of Roadster's product, but was not deeply engaged in day-to-day business.

Tesla in Financial Crises of 2008

Following the 2008 financial crisis and a series of escalating disputes in 2007, Eberhard was expelled from the business. Musk took over the company's management as CEO and product architect, positions he still holds today.

In 2008, Tesla Motors constructed an electric sports car, the Tesla Roadster, with sales to 31 nations of around 2,500 cars. On June 22, 2012, Tesla started delivering its four-door Model S sedan. On February 9, 2012, it unveiled its third item, the Model X, targeting the SUV / minivan market; however, the launch of the Model X was postponed until September 2015. Tesla sells electrical powertrain devices to Daimler for the Smart in addition to its own vehicles.

Elon Musk supported the construction of a sub-US$30,000 compact Tesla model and the construction and sale of electric vehicle powertrain parts so that other car manufacturers could generate electric vehicles at affordable rates without having to create the products in-house ; this resulted to the Model 3 scheduled to have a base cost of US$ 35,000[98 ].

Musk announced in 2014 that Tesla would allow anybody to use its technology patents in good faith in a bid to attract car makers to accelerate the growth of electric cars.

"The sad truth is that electric car programs (or programs for any vehicle that does not burn hydrocarbons) are low to non-existentat significant producers, representing an average of far less than 1% of their total vehicle sales," said Musk.

Elon Musk's hyperloop could revolutionise public transport

On August 12, 2013, Musk presented a notion for a high speed transmission system with reduced pressurized capsules that run on an aerial coil powered by air compressors and linear induction engines, an alpha design paper that outline an imaginary path along which such a transport can take place. The idea has been developed as a method for implementing the idea.

After previous plans for Hyperloop, Elon Musk allocated a dozen Tesla and SpaceX technicians working for nine months to lay the design basis and to produce the transport scheme designs. The initial drawings for a scheme were released in a blank paper on Tesla and SpaceX blogs. A partial void was suggested in Alpha layout to minimize aerodynamic drag, which is theoretically expected to enable comparatively low energy high speed transport with certain other features.
  • In June 2015, Musk announced a development contest to construct Hyperloop cars for students in a 2015–17 Hyperloop pod competition, which will be sponsored by the SpaceX program.
  • Hyperloop One, a Musk company, announced on July 13, 2017 that its first successful Devloop test run took place in Nevada. It was at 12:02 p.m. on 12 May 2017. and 5.3 seconds had taken to reach 70 mph high velocity
Elon Also Said in an Interview that:

I think public transport is painful. It sucks. Why do you want to get on something with a lot of other people, that doesn't leave where you want it to leave, doesn't start where you want it to start, doesn't end where you want it to end? And it doesn't go all the time. ... It's a pain in the ass. That's why everyone doesn't like it. And there's like a bunch of random strangers, one of who might be a serial killer, OK, great. And so that's why people like individualized transport, that goes where you want, when you want.Brown, Mike (December 15, 2017). "Elon Musk Sparks Heated Twitter Debate Over Boring Company's Vision"
